Sorry for the lack of photos and updates. My hard drive crashed so I am using Cliff''s laptop which doesn''t have my old photos on it. Hang in there, he is working on the problem and everything should be up and running over the weekend. =)
Alyssa is 6 months old today!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, I blinked and she is half a year old. I guess I can''t call this "baby fat" anymore huh? HAHAHA!
She is doing great! She is rolling from tummy to back like a champion but still doesn''t really roll the other way unless she has to. She doesn''t seem to like the feeling of rolling from back to tummy which is funny to us b/c that is the way she rolled first. Crazy baby! She is sitting now and can catch herself when she bobbles off balance. We still put a pillow behind her so she can lean back a second and give herself a break. She rode sitting in the shopping cart and didn''t even hold on! She looked like a tiny baby and we got stopped by soooo many people to ask how old she was. Very funny! She tried oatmeal this morning so she has officially had her first taste of solids (see photo album) and did GREAT! No spitting it back out and no icky faces. She was trying to do it herself at one point. Yeah, think she likes it. Wonder where she gets that from? haha
She is still a wonderful sleeper and if we are home all day (so she isn''t sleeping in the car) she takes a morning and afternoon nap both being about 1.5-2 hours long. Sometimes she will need a 30 min. one in there during the day at some point also. She is in bed at 7:30 and sleeps until about 5:15. Sometimes she goes back out until around 6ish other times...not so much. She wakes up singing so I get serenaded every morning. Not the worst way to be pulled from sleep I must say. =) We have tried everything to bump this waking time up but nothing has worked. For those of you who think they can help us, or think that we are doing it "wrong" here is what we have already tried without success. (and yes we tried it for more than one night)
- Put her down later (DUH!)
- Make her naps a little shorter and/or farther between
- Let her sleep more during the day b/c sleep causes sleep.
-Wake her when we go to bed to change her diaper (worked for one morning)
- More formula and/or feed her right before bed
-Ignore her or go in and sooth her and let her put herself back to sleep in the am.
So as you can see we are pretty convinced that we just make early risers. Both of them wake up right around that time no matter what time they go to bed. Cliff is still an early riser and I was when I was little so I think we are just screwed. hahaha
