SHE IS HERE!!! Alyssa Pearl was born on June 19th at 6:29pm. She weighed 8lbs 4.7oz and is 20 inches long. I was in labor for 28 hours....yes you read that right 28 HOURS!!!! She stalled for 5 hours at 9 centimeters but it was a wonderful birth experience. Great epidural, lots of time to relax and nap without any panicky moments and great nurses. We came home today and she is nursing like a champ!
First of all notice I am here to post this. *sigh* There hasn''t been any change at all! I have spent the week bouncing on the yoga ball and chasing a toddler. NOTHING! I asked her to strip my membranes and she said no. WHAT??!! I asked at what point they are going to force an induction (which I really don''t want) and she said that they won''t let me go past 42 weeks. That is 2.5 weeks away! Picture me in 2.5 weeks.....yeah that is the same face I made. We are all thinking that Alyssa is already around 8lbs. So if I make it to my next appointment on Wednesday I will be seeing the "rough" doc who I have been avoiding. I like to call him sausage fingers. He will strip membranes without even telling me. He did it with Natalie and I went into labor the next day. He is notorious for doing it. It irritates me that they will pump you full of fake drugs to induce labor but not strip the membranes at almost 40 weeks which could be a natural induction. Hello?? Help nature along or pump me full of synthetic "things" that may not even work and will force me into a c-section. Yes I have done my homework.....no I don''t want to be induced!
Then I asked what I could do to help things along. She said walking (yeah ok, it is 95 degrees here and my bp has slowly been creeping up plus walking around the grocery store just about killed my joints and back) or sex. Um......her finger hurt.....let''s just leave it at that. So annoyed that she wouldn''t help things along naturally.
Another appointment down. I am 1.5cm still but this doc thought I was only 40% effaced. (as opposed to last week''s doc thinking 70%) Not sure how you could be that off from doc to doc but it happened none the less. She said it doesn''t really mean anything and I could go at any point. uhhh DUH! I am 38.5 weeks. haha Anyway, blood pressure was high for me but not at a dangerous level. It was 140/80. I am having braxton hicks but again, those don''t mean or do anything so there you go. In summary: I am 38w2d and could go at any point. Uh thanks for the insight! hahaha!
